"Swingers" can be found in every race and profession. All levels of education and ethnicities are present. Most swingers, however, are Caucasian, middle to upper middle socio-economic class, and married. Both married and unattached "swingers" often tend to be venturous, sophisticated, and social creatures. Most single women who join swing clubs find them to be a revitalizing substitute for the usual bar scene.

Seeing your spouse pleasuring and being pleasured by someone else can be a real eye opener, it can be difficult the first time. I agree that as a couple you should not be looking for something better than what you have in your relationship together but you must prepare yourselves for the reactions that you will see in your spouse/partner from the pleasures of a possible new technique by an added swinging partner. In making love together there are times, depending on your sexual positions that you cannot see the expressions of your spouse. Prepare yourselves for these expressions when seeing him/her with an added partner. One enhancement while swinging that my husband loves is that he has the opportunity to see me fully in positions with others, allowing him to see ALL of my expressions that maybe he has missed when he and I are alone making love together. Do not expect to be totally comfortable the first time but if swinnging is for you, you will continue to look toward your next experience.

Rules are often set between partners prior to "swinging". "No means No" is a rule that ALL swingers should follow. But other rules can be set about respect, jealousy, privacy, and even code words or signs.

I think that hippies had some very cool ideas about life. Their parent's generation had been through really rough times; The Great Depression, World War II, the creation of The Nuclear Bomb. And yet, these parents who could have chosen to teach their children only fear of the unknown and paranoia about the future somehow produced a generation searching for connection with the Earth, connection with strangers and peace. We still have war and we still have environmental concerns, but I am hopeful. For every negative thing on a global scale, I see thousands of efforts small and large being made to make the world a better place. I believe that these positive acts will continue to grow and someday overtake the sorrows of the world. Swingers are a global community of friends. We like it that way. There are people here from every continent seeking connection, seeking communication, seeking peace. You should be proud to be a part of that.
